School "Cup"Cake-Off!!

Our school has an annual Cake-Off...we had so many different ideas that we couldn't just choose one...so we made many!!

We made apples for all of the wonderful teachers...Jenny entered those!

We made an adorable "Treasure Chest Island" cake!  The palm trees and ocean/sand creatures are made from molding chocolate.  The treasure chest is a Swiss Cake Roll stuffed with crushed up Jolly Ranchers.  I entered this and it was a BIG HIT....we got 2nd place for this one!!

We also made a super cute picnic themed bunch...with ants made from chocolate covered almonds carrying watermelon candies on their back....a VERY CUTE creation!!!

We decided to step out of our comfort zone and work with fondant this time....we made this beautiful cake!  This took us a while, but it turned out pretty cute!

Jenny and I cannot take full credit for this one...this was created by a future J & J baker...Emily (Jenny's daughter) for the cake-off!  She did an amazing job working with the fondant and I absolutely loved all of the fun colors!

Baby Shower!

Jenny was having a baby shower for her sister, Kristin, so we made these adorable babies!  They were definitely a challenge to make and take some time, but when they are all done, they are worth it!  Kristin ended up having a beautiful baby girl, Kiera! Congrats!!

Birthdays!

Jenny's daughter and nephew had a joint family birthday dinner...so we thought we would make cupcakes for them!  Gracie of course got some princess ones again and Luke got to enjoy some dinosaur ones!  Everyone loved them!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

I am a teacher and we were having a pot luck lunch for St. Patty's Day....so we decided to make these adorable cupcakes for them!  Everyone loved them and thought they were store bought! These may be some of my favorites of ours...

Girls Night IN!

We made these for our "girls night in" to kick off summer! We made a cupcake to look like each guest at our party...each equip with Laffy Taffy flippers, a Dots drink, a mini donut tube, a Dots swimming suit, and Vanilla Wafer head! They were adorable and very yummy to eat!

Some of our first creations!!

These are some of our first cupcakes....

These were done for a birthday party...they were "microphones" made from ice cream cones, a donut hole, and sprinkles.  The stars are made from melted Jolly Ranchers....they were a BIG HIT for our first try!!

These were our second attempt...and still to day some of my favorites!! They were for a little girl's birthday and she loved them! We used pretzels dipped in chocolate and then put melted Jolly Ranchers stars for the wands! Definitely cupcakes fit for a princess!

Trying it out!

I thought this would be a fun and easier way to share our cupcake ideas with everyone...I am just learning how to do this...so bare with me! :)
